Nutritious
Dog Biscuits
We love our dogs and want them to stay fit and healthy.
This means
feeding them a wholesome diet that avoids foods high in saturated
fats and refined sugars.
But life would be very dull without its
little treats so we’ve come up
with the solution: healthy treats
that also taste good.
Scallywags’ dog biscuits are handmade using the best, human quality,
natural ingredients. A bit indulgent? Perhaps. But if you feel about
your dogs
like we feel about ours, you’ll know where we’re coming
from!

Scallywags Dog Bakery supports Dogs
Aid (www.dogsaid.ie), the Blue
Cross (www.bluecross.ie) and
Dogs in Distress (www.dogsindistress.org).
Every time you buy Scallywags dog biscuits
it helps us make regular contributions to these organisations.
Here are some of the expert testers on our panel:
Sophie
& Molly are the Scallywags’ house dogs and chief product testers.
Molly is laid back and philosophical.
Sophie is a bundle of energy
with a simple view of the world - if it moves chase it.
Sophie is addicted to playing ball and shredding furry toys. Molly’s
weakness is packaging and she is particularly fond of opening (other
people’s) presents. Molly’s tastes are simple. Her toy of choice is
a piece of tissue paper scrunched into a ball although she has been
known to swipe Sophie’s furry animals just to wind her up.
Sophie is a very choosy eater so if she gives a biscuit the “paws
up” we know other dogs will like it. Both dogs came from rescue
groups but it didn’t take them long to settle down with each other
and become an entertaining double act. Molly is the clown of the two
and has perfected the art of presenting her bowl to visitors with a
soulful “they never feed me” expression on her face.

The Blue Cross is a long established veterinary care charity for
needy pets. The charity operates mobile pet clinics and in 2009
opened a new small animal clinic at its headquarters in Inchicore.
Last year the Blue Cross treated over 15,000 pets at its mobile
clinics and over 2,000 at its new permanent clinic. If you have any
spare time to help volunteers are always needed.

If you're the outdoor type with an adventurous dog who also enjoys
the wide blue yonder check out the range of K9 outdoor wear and
accessories carried by the Donegal-based company, Country Hounds. It
stocks Outward Hound and Ruffwear ranges as well as travel
accessories, life jackets, collars, leads and toys.
www.dogsindistress.org
Dogs in Distress is a not for profit organisation whose aim is to
rescue dogs and give them a better life. It is staffed completely by
volunteers. Dogs in Distress has no premises and relies solely on
foster families to care for the dogs it rescues. All of the
organisation's dogs are vaccinated, micro-chipped, neutered, and
treated for fleas and worms before going to their new homes.
www.irishanimals.ie
This is a very useful site offering advice about travelling with
your pet, a lost and found service, information about pet friendly
holiday accommodation and links to animal welfare and rescue groups.

Margaret McGuire is based in picturesque West Cork from where she
runs her mobile pet shop, dog walking and pet minding service. She
is particularly interested in dog nutrition and carries a wide range
of holistic dog foods including Scallywags' all-natural biscuits.
Margaret provides a delivery service to customers and is a regular
at the Kinsale and Clonakilty Farmers' Markets and at Hosfords
Garden Centre (Enniskeane) on the first Sunday of each month.
